On March 26, 2024, we supported and partnered with the Forest Caravan initiative, having the privilege to plant Pančić’s spruce, a rare species of conifer, in collaboration with the “Radoje Domanović” Elementary School from New Belgrade.
This inspiring tree-planting initiative was profoundly fulfilling for all participants. Under the leadership of the Forest Caravan organization, participants worked together to restore green areas in their community. With their enthusiasm and dedication, they planted new trees, including Pančić’s spruce, symbolizing the natural wealth and the importance of preserving biodiversity.
Named after the renowned botanist Josif Pančić, Pančić’s spruce represents one of the oldest and most primitive species of conifers in the world. Its rarity makes it a precious part of Serbia’s natural heritage, and its planting in New Belgrade is a significant step towards preserving this species and its ecosystem.
Participants expressed their gratitude to the organizers and all attendees for their support and involvement during this initiative. Their presence and enthusiasm were crucial for the success of this endeavor. This action exemplifies collective efforts in nature conservation and creating positive changes in the environment.
Initiatives like the Forest Caravan aim to raise awareness of the importance of biodiversity and sustainable forest management, as well as to motivate active participation in protecting natural resources. Participants are proud to be part of this initiative and look forward to future actions of the Forest Caravan and similar projects that contribute to nature conservation and improving living spaces for all citizens.”
